Sognefjellet - The most impressive mountain pass in Northern Europe! Experience the spectacular and wild mountain scenery in the Jotunheimen National Park.
High up in the mountains in a majestic landscape with jagged peaks, blue ice and emerald green lakes, the Sognefjellsvegen road twists and turns on its way from the world's longest fjord - Sognefjorden. In 1997, the road was designated an official tourist road and it was upgraded to full National Tourist Route status in 2003.

- It passes the Jotunheimen National Park, with Northern Europe's tallest peaks (Galdhøpiggen 2 469 metres)
- The distance between Gaupne in Sogn og Fjordane and Lom in Oppland is in total 110 kilometers(68 miles).
- It passes the Jostedalsbreen National Park -Northern Europe's largest glacier covering an area of 485 square kilometres.
- It passes the innermost section of the Sognefjord which at 210 km, is one of the world's longest fjords
